Congratulations to Robert Harvey of St. Kilda on a fine career! We will miss you! Back in 1996 I went to the 100th Grand Final and had the time of my life. I had met a couple of people from Western Australia and we were walking down to Crown Ca$ino. Lucky for me I was with them! One of them said "hey there's Robert Harvey" and I'm like "wow who is that?" He was standing outside there alone. They told me he played for St. Kilda. So I hurried and found a piece of paper and walked up to him and got his autograph. He was the first player I met and will never forget it. I told him I was from Pittsburgh and he thought that was cool. Lord only knows if he remembers that who knows I could be the only American with his autograph!!!! Perhaps he will stay involved with St. Kilda and maybe even get into coaching. All the best to you Robert!!!!!!!!!

Having lived in the U.S., for around 25 years, it was with a great deal of pleasure that I read about Louie the Lip.
Not pleasure about his retirement, but about his longevity with the game he loved.
I saw him as a rover for the "hated" Magpies and he was very, very good and as tough as old boots. If memory serves me he was a nephew of Albie Pannam another great Collingwood rover against whom I played when he was coach of the Richmond seconds.
Lou was always a good bloke and several times when doing radio for 3AW with Norman Banks and Bill Jacobs we would be in a nearby booth and could hear Ron Casey and Lou giving it their all for 3DB.
My ver best wishes to Lou and his family - what an ornament to the greatest game.
