I am a sports guy, I have worked on the sports desk at the Salina Journal, Salina, Kansas for the past 12 years. I work on the desk, designing the scoreboard page (the boxscores and game summaries). I write a small bit when not in the office, I have part of the small college (NAIA colleges and universities in Kansas) beat.
I have been a member of Geelong since 1997 and have been to Oz five times to see the footy.
I have been to 30 senior matches, some reserves and the under 18’s national championships.
I have been in the audience of the Footy Show five times, and was introduced on camera by Eddie McGuire and spoke to Sam Newman on the air during my first visit in 1995. I have been interviewed on the Grill Team on Triple M by Eddie and Trevor Marmalade. Plus, Rex Hunt, Mal Brown and Graeme Bond interviewed me during prematch coverage on 3AW.
One of my mates is an AFL timekeeper (Don Stock) and I have been in the time keepers box twice during a league match.
I will continue to complain about television coverage of AFL in America until I can see all 8 games each week. Fox Footy Channel and the Footy Show MUST be viewed by the American public to learn and appreciate the footy.
