Yesterday I went to the VFL Grand Final. Since most of you are in America and you probably won't have heard about what happened, I'll give you a rundown on the game.
It took place at Optus Oval, Geelong against Port Melbourne. Being a Geelong supporter, of course I was there in my guernsey with my white and navy scarfe and a huge sign that said, 'Go Cats!'.
The games started and until half time it was neck and neck. There wasn't a time where any team was a goal in front. The end of third quarter, Port lead by about 15 points and it looked as if they were going to win. But the Cats came through in stunning form, winning by 22 points. Mensch kicked an amazing goal, over his shoulder and at a totally obscure angle. It was amazing!
The crowd went crazy and flooded the grounds before we could be told not to.
Rahilly was judged best afield and presented with the Norman Goss medal.
I think Mensch got best goal of the game, and Bartel (my favourite) best mark.
Also on that day, the GFL grand final was on at Skilled Stadium. Apparently it was a bloody match with several people taken off the field with bleeding noses and faces. Lara was victorious though, beating St Josephs.
YAY! GO CATS!
