Timeline for Grand Final Thursday, 26 September 2002, at 4:41 p.m. US Eastern Time

Dear AFANAers,

Can someone out there give me a "heads up" as to what is the scheduled or anticipated timeline for the different "events" during the course of the Grand Final...perhaps as released by the AFL?

What I'm referring to is a pinpoint timeline that details, for example: what time the curtain-raiser (if any) begins and ends, what time the sprint races will be held, when will the teams enter the ground, what exact time will the bounce be, what is the scheduled start of halftime, what is the approximate time of the final siren and medal presentations...

Has anyone seen this info posted anywhere? Usually someone on here or one of the footy pages has it, but I've seen nothing displayed so far this year.

I prefer if times are listed in actual Melbourne time, so that I (and others) can convert to my local time.

Thanks for your help.

The info is in our Media updates... for the latest one send a blank e-mail to tvupdatev7n29@afana.com The final one before the Grand Final, with a revised timeline, will be released tonight. We have the info sourced not just from the AFL but also Ten Network.

Yep, that's exactly what you will get...

The timeline has both AEST for Melbourne and EDT for eastern US and Canada which should be sufficient. The reason it is not posted here is explained on our TV page...

As of this season we no longer post the full Media updates on the site because a) it consumed an incredible amount of our webmaster's time and more importantly b) we want you to subscribe to our Media newsletter. After all, it's free and you get lots more than just the TV schedules each week. Subscriptions may be had by following the link below.

TAC under-18 championships start at 9.00 am melbourne time, this is followed by the grand final sprint and goal kicking comp. pre-match entertainment starts at 1pm which include all the bands and the national anthem, game starts at 2.30pm. This year should be great but the forecast is 14 degree with showers and possible hail through the afternoon, but nothing can ruin the day. i went to the grand final parade today where the player parade through the streets of melbourne and there were 100,000 people there and the atmosphere was like nothing you have ever seen before, the city comes alive this time of year and melbourne is the place to be. collingwood supporters were out in force and are confident of victory, even though they WILL be beaten, and being a mad carlton supporter and having to put up with collingwood everywhere i look i cant wait till they fall

Thanks, NiCoLe... nothing like a report from the home of footy! Wish I was there. Enjoy the match.

To everyone else, we had a revised and more complete timeline in last night's Media News... tvupdatev7n30@afana.com

Hi Nicole -

Always glad to see another Blues fan coming in to our BB.
I thought Fox had a 24-h footy channel - or is that only during the season.
Of course, I have no problem with withdrawl as I have s HUGE stack of tapes from a friend in NSW. I haven't even gotten to Round 4 yet!!
Don't worry - our Blueboys will rise from the ashes next year, especially after Elliott is kicked out!!

GO BLUES

Yeah the footy channel is still going, their motto is 'the game never ends' and it doesn't. at the moment their showing all the standout game of the seasons, the club best & fairest awards nights and just all the best of the shows they have one there.
i know the blues will be back, we're never down for long. i can't wait for next year after all the hell i have put up with this year, and being in melbourne there is just no way to escape the footy.
enjoy watching all your tapes and watch the rd. 3 game against Collingwood a million times cause that was a beautiful night.

Hi Nicole -
Looking forward to getting to that one - especially as I just watched Sydney hammer Carlton - OUCH!!
Do you by any chance know anyone with NTSC capability who has the ESS/KANG Round 16, 2000 game on tape? I am dying to get my hands on a copy of that one. I heard it on the ABC broadcast and would love a copy
