> Anyone know where i might be able to see it...
Must be a busy year in Barcelona as you are the third inquiry we've had from Barcelona this month. Unfortunately, we don't have confirmation of Canal+ plans at this time and no coverage of the GF is reflected on their publicly posted schedules.
AFANA has an international TV web page with the most current info we can collect from around the world on TV coverage of footy:
http://www.afana.com/af_2004_internationaltv.shtml
My best guess would be that if it is carried live in Spain at all, it will be on one of the Canal+ cable channels. If you can manage passable Spanish, you could e-mail Canal+ and inquire as they have a very nice web site. As soon as AFANA can get more further info we will update our site.
Alternatively, you can also do one or more of the following and also check to see if there are any local parties this way:
- Contact the Australian embassy or consulate nearest Barcelona as someone there may well have already figured this out
- If there is an Australian-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, contact them (do a web search)
- Try to check with the local footy club organizers:
The Madrid Bears have some contacts:
- Jeff Callow (jeffcallow@telefonica.net) (Club President, Madrid AFC)
Address: Madrid AFC, General Mascardó, 35 6Dcha, 28020 Madrid, Spain
Phone: +34 (91) 533-2520 home, +34 669-458341 mobile
- Andrew Nielsen (Andrew.Nielson@neelos.com) (Football Manager, Madrid AFC)
Phone: +34 606-254007
- LFA Catalunya
There is also a league in Catalunya, the LFA Catalunya
There are 4 teams: Belfry, Elfos, Grillos and Aligators.
Contact: lfaustraliano@yahoo.com.au
Lastly, if you contact me off the BBS with your contact details (just use the e-mail AFANA link at the bottom of the page), I will blind mail you plus the other two contacts and perhaps together you can solve this for Barcelona.
If you get any good info, be sure to let us know so we can share it with other fans. Hope some of this helps.
