Welcome.

Where abouts are you migrating to in Canad?. If you are heading out towards my neck of the woods in Winnipeg, get ready for some weather you probably have never experienced in your life before. :b You know those movies where you see arctic locales with snow dunes and blowing snow, that's Central Canada for you.

I guess I'll introduce myself too, even though I've actually been on these boards for about 6 months now and havn't really formally introduced myself like you have.

AFL team: Essendon Bombers, St.Kilda Saints

Hi Scott -
Lisa Albergo here - a long time member of AFANA and lover of all things footy. I am also an umpire for the leagues here.
I follow Carlton, but also enjoy a well-played game regardless of who is playing.
A Port fa, hun? One question: WHAT in blue blazes did Carlton ever do to you guys that you hammer us almost everyt time? :(
Favorite players is too many to name, but some I enjoy watching besides Carlton are Nick Riewoldt, Stephen Milne, James Hird, Jason Akermanis, Gary Ablett Jr, Aaron Davey, And Barry Hall.
Past players would be Gary Ablett, Wayne Carey, Steve Silvagi, Alistair Lynch, Tony Lockett, and John Platten.

Drop me a line if you ever want to chat. We could even meet in the AFANA chat room and bring along some friends.

Hi Lisa,

Apologies for the delay December is a very busy month for me.

I used to supporter Carlton before Port gained entry into the AFL, so I have a soft spot for them (although not that soft LOL).

I think Carlton is just 1 of the sides Port match up well against. In the past Port match up well against similar styled attacking teams and match up worst against hard defensive teams (like Kangaroos or Collingwood). I would expect things to get closer though between Port and Carlton now Denis Pagan is coaching the Blues, since he is renowned for his hard competitive coaching style.

As I said I will become more active as the new season approaches.

Cheers

hi Scott -
Yeah, Port does better than match up on my Blues. They beat them almost every time. I hope you are right about Denis as we owe Port a few. And I am not too happy with Port right now as they cost me a few hundred $$$. I had a bet that Brisbane would make it 4 in a row. I suppose its not all Port's fault as the Lions played the worst game I've seen them play in years.

Keep in touch.
Lisa
