Port Adelaide jumpers, did anybody notice? Saturday, 2 April 2005, at 10:52 p.m. US Eastern Time

I got to watch the Port-Freo game last night on FSW. Did anybody notice on Stuart Dew and Stuart Cochrane jumpers that there was a bulge in their back, between the numbers, between their shoulder blades?
On Dew, it looked like he had a vest or something under his jumper on the front view. Were these guys wearing flack jackets for injury or some sort of playable ice vest that is used when it is hot?
I do not know what the temperature would have been at Subi that night, but I know that daytime high in Perth has hovered around 40C (104F) for some time.
If anybody knows, please add on a post to this for me.
Thanks,

Didn't notice any such thing. All I know is, I miss Byron Pickett :( Port Adelaide is boring without him, 4 more weeks is it?

The Bulge
They commented on it during the radio call.
Apparently the mysterious bulge was a tracking device during play on those two players.
It was used also in the Wizard Cup pre season series as well.
Anything to try and get an edge in a very competitive League.

Really? I would have thought that they were there so Karl Rove could feed them instructions. :D

Karl Rove is just the front man in this... Eddie McGuire is the real brains. It's part of his plan to guarantee that he decides who wins all matches. :}

There is a story up on the the Age Real Footy site, talking about global positioning vests with a picture of Barry Hall wearing one, the same that I saw on the Port players. Here is the link to the story,

This should end all of the discussion I started up.

Can the Cats recover to be worth a damn? No Benny Graham is a problem.

There was a short news video of Ben Graham the other day at a ground in Las Vegas. He was practising his kicking for the NFL.
It showed him punting the NFL ball high in the air trying to get as much "hang time" as possible. He had been at this facility with other players for a few weeks just practising. It looked like a tryout clinic.
Ben said when interviewed he was quite happy doing this. It had been a longtime dream of his in Geelong to try out for the NFL.
Interesting stuff
