Well, I have to do it again. Given the choice between Sydney and West Coast, I have to say... GO SYDNEY!!!

(But I feel so dirty)
But I fear Sydney won't stand much of a chance if Barry Hall is ruled out of the game.

I would prefer WCE to win, but if Barry Hall is out, a record margin may take place on GF day.

Remember, if you can get it, go to Fox Soccer Channel at midnight eastern time Friday night, Saturday morning. 11 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. Mountain and 9 p.m. Pacific time.
Please remember to enjoy our live footy since this is the only time we get it.

I tend to agree. The Swans have tended to over-rely on Hall in recent seasons,up front or even in the middle of the ground to go forward, which is surprising given the firepower they have up front (Davis, O'Loughlin, Goodes, O'Keefe, Jolly/Ball, etc). I think the suspension is more than fair (or maybe I'm just a disgruntled Collingwood supporter with Cloke in '02 and Rocca in '03) but the sydney media over here have gone crazy, building a us v them mentality with Melbourne and running their own campaign to get him off. The most ridiculous quote i heard over the weekend was from former Brownlow Medallist Barry Round who suggested Matt Maguire should tell the tribunal he took 'a dive to get a free kick'. Maguire must have been pretty keen for the free kick because he went off the ground for five minutes and forced Frasier Gherig to play centre half-back on Hall.

I must admit though, the media coverage at least is the greatest response to AFL I have ever seen in this city. I guess for the development of the game here but it is just driving me insane. In a fit of rage I have already torn to shreds my Sydney Swans "Grand Finalists 2005" poster from yesterday's paper and am about to do the same to today's four-page AFL liftout. I am going to say it quietly in case anyone over here hears me- but Go The Eagles!

We haven't seen the match over here yet as we will get it on tape a week later. But if Barry did the deed, he should be treated the same as Cloke and Rocca. The rules shouldn't be changed to make an exception for Barry just because his suspension gives West Coast greater advantage.

As most of you know, I rarely talk about my preferences in AFL clubs, etc, as it's important that AFANA be seen as neutral. However, permit me this one time to offer my thoughts on the Grand Final:

First in '92, Second in '94, Third time in '05.

Go Eagles!

(and congrats to Cousins as our 2nd consecutive Brownlow medallist).

Alas, I think you are probably right, even though..

The G-spot...ahem, -train...didn't move back until after Maguire got up off the ground. And through other sources I have heard opinion that it was a combination of a bad shot and some bad acting. Specifically, Maguire took a shot that doubled him over, and milking it for all it was worth found himself still doing Hamlet's death scene when a kick came Barry's way. Unable to react in time, Maguire chose to continue his performance rather than admit he was acting. My source for this analysis, however, admits that even if Maguire had remembered the game was at the MCG, and not the Old Globe, Hall still would have deserved to be reported.

However, the three wise men saw it differently!

It took the Miracle Kick of St. Nick to get us to that game. Now three wise men have cleared Barry to play. Is there really any question that we are destined to reach the promised land?
