I've certainly seen it first hand that day I was at the G; something special. Comparing it to sporting events I've seen here I'd say I enjoy the more local flavor it has; whereas for example the (Packers) are kind of a statewide thing. I've always preferred collegiate gridiron anyway (I was born a Cornhusker and will always have a special allegiance to them as well).

Unfortunately I'm not quite close enough to Milwaukee to make it matter (Green Bay, which is probably a good 2 1/2 hours drive). A shame, because if I did live in the area I'd seriously consider trying out to play the game and would have a lot sooner.

I'm almost afraid to admit I'm an Essendon supporter actually; with the success they've been having it's easy to be labeled a bandwagon jumper. I guess since my fiancee and her family are all Bomber nuts I shouldn't need an excuse to do so. It's funny though; last year when I found out they lost the preliminary final by a single point I was devastated! Certainly surprised at how badly I took it :)
