User profiles are now working... you can create a profile by clicking on the appropriate link at the top of the screen... you can also view anyone's profile. the spell checking is also working just fine. Enjoy... AFANA home page

We are looking at moving to a new host but not for reasons of response time. This site is not particularly slower (or faster!) than most of the others I use so I can only surmise it has to do with how your ISP connects to our host. We have had a few complaints but we've never been able to pin down a specific cause.

On the BBS at least, response time can be improved by setting your preferences to not display all 250+ messages currently on the BBS. This can be done by changing the time frame to something other than the default 12 months. The BBS code is getting pretty complex and that does affect the speed at which it generates the pages. Unlike the rest of the site, the BBS generates pages on the fly so the speed of the host and the code matter.

I agree with Mr. Lipp. I have done every thing you suggested, but response time is still worse than most other sites I access. On the other hand, a good thing is worth waiting for.

Thanks Bob. I'm glad you and KC Swan stick with us! As I say, I don't have the problem so it's hard for me to analyze. In any event, we will probably switch hosts after the AFL season ends so we'll see if that makes any difference.

I'd be interested in who your ISP is -- send me a private e-mail and I'll see if we can find any pattern in all of this.
