(OK, I've only seen American teams.) The indoor version is more exciting because it forces the players closer together resulting in more action. Also, the use of the boards around the field for passing (like hockey) helps.
If I was making the rules for indoor footy, I would think about having some kind of high glass around the field to reduce the number of out-of-bounds you would have with the smaller field.
A final(?) concern... In changing the rules to accomodate the indoor location, how different will it be from REAL footy? Could newcomers be turned off by the indoor game and never give the REAL game a chance?
