Australian football is the most physically demanding game of ANY team sport, and requires more skills than rugby, soccer, or American football.

How many soccer players could kick a goal from 40-60 meters out or soar 4-6 feet in the air to catch the ball while surrounded by a pack of players?
None, I bet.

Also, footy fans are better behaved than the thugs and hooligans which frequent your games. I wouldn't go to a soccer match if you paid me. Not with that kind of behavior. also, I have heard stories that Manchester United "buys" players" and that is why they are so dominant. The AFL equalized its competition years ago with a national draft, so all teams have a fair go.

On a final note, Australia and Ireland have come up with an annual hybrid game - a cross between Gaeilc Football and footy. The Aussies won it this year. I wonder how your precious pommies would fare against the Aussies in a hybrid footy/soccer match. My money would be on the Aussies. One tackle or hip and shoulder and those wimpy soccer boys would be on the sidelines.
