It also requires more "toughness" than soccer. A soccer player will often fall to the ground and cry whenever someone from from the opposing team touches him. One good footy bump would probably end a soccer player's career.

Maybe the reason soccer fans riot so often is that they're fed up with wasting their time and money on such a boring game.
