Same as in Pommie Roundball - you can kick the ball as high as you like.

Just like Rugby League, Rugby Union, Gaelic Football, American Football and Canadian Football - in Aussie Rules the ball has to cross the goal line (that's the 21 feet [6.4m] between the 2 taller middle posts at either end of the ground - and before you go spouting off again go read the original 1862 rules of soccer

rule on scoring.

IV. A goal shall be won when the ball passes between the goal-posts or over the space between the goal-posts (at whatever height), not being thrown, knocked on, or carried.

Rather changed a lot hasn't it, gee you can even put the ball over the goal line by almost any means - oh that's right even kicking it in is allowed.

No let's see:
Football codes
round ball
pommie round ball
Gaelic football
Speedball
other shaped ball
Aussie Rules
Rugby Union
Rugby League
American Football
Canadian Football
Comball (common football/folkball)

> looser it will never expand beyond its borders and australian kids of the

> global sports.

No, one doesn't only those who are duped by the belief that their game is real football. if what your suggesting Pommie roundball will soon be on the wayout to be replaced with basketball (as has happened in Greece), American Football (because it has the financial resources to swamp all other football codes - the salleries it pays it players makes the so-called big saleries of pommie roundball players look like peanuts) and Baseball.

No they chose to play the games/sports that they were best at.

> You aussies

I think you're over-looking the fact that this is the (A)ustralian (F)ootball (A)ssociation of (N)orth (A)merican - that's AFANA, it is not an Aussie site but one setup and run by North Americans.

> dont like competing against the worlds best because you always loose,at
> the olympics you did not win anything that really counts in the real

Let's see, 5th or 6th on the medal table that's better than about 130 other nations, many of them with much larger populations than Aussie.

> world, your men where bounced out in basketball, you are lousy in

Playing off for 5th 6th place in the men and for the gold in the women's is nothing to scoff at.

> waterpolo, handball and volleyball, you did not win a game in the

Our women won the waterpolo and beach volleyball gold medals, true the men didn't do as well,

> football, sure 5 gold medals in the pool but black men dont swim because

Try recounting the number of golds we won in the pool or don't women count.

> there is no money in it and sure you are world champs in cricket and rugby

Oh I see, it's all to do with dollars, in that case read above and take up, basketball, baseball or more importantly American Football.

> league oh ye and netball too but heck where is the competition.

Getting better each year.

> Football as the world knows it is played with a round ball its governed

^^^^^^^^ As I've told you elswhere, Australian Football, being the first to write it's rules down has first claim on the word 'football' and moral right to the word to name and describe it's game.

> by the FEDERATION OF INTERNACIONAL FOOTBALL ASSOCIATIONS with over 200

Actualy it's 197 countries, but good try.

> member countries at all are welcome to come and compete against the worlds
> best if your chicken play your own game with your own rules and declare
> yourselves the worldsbest.

That's something we've never done.
