I'll be in Sydney and Melbourne from March 8th-April 3rd. When is your season?
I am totally unknowledgeable about this sport. We are crazy American football lovers and worship our local San Francisco 49ers, no matter how they play!
Thanks. Judy y play!
Thanks. Judy

The AFL Official web site (www.afl.com.au) has the schedule for the whole season. Go to www.afl.com.au and click on the "fixtures' tab. If you schedule yourself right, you should be able to get in a match or two. The Ansett Cup series is in process now and finishes on March 17. The Premiership season begins on March 30th.

The Ansett Cup series is the 'exibition' season for the AFL.

Definitely try to get to a Swans game in Sydney. Watch for Paul Kelly (#14) and Michael O'Loughlin (#19). Both are excellent players.

In Melbounre, try to get to a Kangraoo game and watch Wayne Carey (#18 in blue and white stripes). He is rated THE best player in the comp - he's been compared to Michael Jordan and it is not an exaggeration. He is THAT good.
I just checked my swchedule and the Roos play the Essendon Bombers on March 30 at the MCG. Essendon won last year's Grand Final (equivalent of the Super Bowl). The Roos won it in 1999. So it will be a massive blockbuster game at the best stadium in Australia - the Melbourne Cricket Ground. I believe the MCG also has a number of displays of memorabilia, so get there early and enjoy the atmosphere.
