game day/night chat Sunday, 29 April 2001, at 4:01 p.m. US Eastern Time

Hi All -

if anyone out there braves the wee hours like I do to listen to games at the AFL site, drop an IM at the time, or an e-mail to let me know if you want to meet in the AFANA chat room during the game.

Lisa, I am a long time pies fan and do try to listen as often as possible--I am trying to find someone in the wash. d.c. area (where they get footy on fox sports world) who might have a video tape of the tremensious 2001 rd. #6 game between the blues and pies last weekend. I am willing to pay for their trouble.

thanks,

Hi there, glad I found this site,

I just started recording the Internet broadcast for the games on Saturday and Sunday midnight, make an MP3, then listen at leisure on my player. At least those broadcasts are not chopped up, and this weekend I managed to catch the classic Essendon - Kangaroos game. I'll definitely check out the chat room if I'm around at the time.

That's certainly a very good way to do it. If you use the Voquette or Total Recorder software it is a breeze though it will take a nice chunk of hard disk space to hold the file until you put it on a disk.

As for the broadcasts being chopped up, as you will note here on the BBS, we have had extensive discussions about the shortcomings of the telecasts. I won't repeat what we've said before but the format of the programs on FOX Sports World all but guarantees some editing that we would prefer not to have. I doubt there are many fans who wouldn't prefer a full match, and live to boot.

The Essendon v Kangaroos game was one for the books. Be glad to see you in the chat room during one of the remaining rounds of the season.
