Call for Volunteers

With the rapid approach of the AFL season, AFANA is looking for more volunteers. Readers of this web site can help. While every task has it's own requirements, not all of these tasks require extensive time commitments or web skills or even prior experience. You do need to be dependable.

Want to help footy grow in North America? Then please join our team of dedicated fans!  The areas we need help in include:
US and Canadian based contributors to our web site, video and graphic assistance, Australian based reporters in all major and minor AFL cities.  (Home page viewers click on "read more" to see the rest of this post).

  • US and Canadian based contributors to our web site. Help us process the increasing number of sources of info we get so we can get it out to fans. We have openings for fans to edit the weekly AFL player rosters for posting at the web site, write materials on footy in the US and Canada including pieces on local clubs, contribute to our Footy FAQ for new fans, as well as numerous other opportunities.  Some tasks are deadline oriented, but others are not.

  • Video and graphic production assistance. If you have experience producing web graphics, video stills, or short video pieces, we need you.  These would be one off projects not a regular commitment.

  • Australian based reporters in all major and minor AFL cities including Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane as well as places such as Darwin and Launceston. Learn to be a professional journalist and get AFL press credentials.  Must be available to cover AFL matches on alternate weekends and be able to write on deadline and willing to learn.  Perfect for students or those who aspire to be professional writers. No experience needed. (Tell your friends down under!)

If you or someone you know are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Rob at aussiefb@afana.com
