Have any newsletters been sent out yet?

Have any email newsletters been sent out yet? I thought I had dropped off the email list but the system says I'm still signed up to receive the emailings. If it makes any difference, I'm on Verizon dsl. I don't think they are considering the newsletters as spam as I don't see any entries in the spam folder on Verizon's site if/when I go to check my email there.

Same with me.  I seem to remember awhile ago AFANA mentioned they were short on manpower and were looking for more volunteer help.  So I suspect they just haven't had the time or personnel to keep up with them.

Exactly right... it's a people problem

No newsletters have been published recently.  This is due to mostly people and staff issues:  Lisa has had computer problems delaying a footy newsletter and I no longer have the time to do a TV newsletter.  My work with AFANA now takes up so much time that spending hours each week reissuing in the newsletter what is already published here on the web site is time I don't have.  If we had volunteers to help, maybe we would continue.  We also have the need to make sure the newsletter software is maintained, secure, and we make the endless changes required by all of the major ISPs to comply with the anti-spam rules.  As of now, the consensus of the officers in AFANA is that between the spam and security issues and the lack of volunteers, we have chosen to indefinitely discontinue publication of the newsletters.

All the relevant content that we have has been published here.  We are looking at longer term technical solutions that let us generate the newsletters from the web content but for now we encourage fans to use the RSS links (see our Sitemap for a guide and links) to get content delivered to their inbox or browser directly.

We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and we will try to get an issue of both newsletters out soon explaining all of this.
