Tribunal and Points System
Hi Brenda,
The AFL has a system whereby the match officials and a video review team can cite a player for some infraction (usually contact with another player) and based on the severity they are assessed "points". Those points can then be increased or reduced based on whether they plead guilty immediately, have a prior "record" of suspended games, or "residual" points. For every 100 points they face a 1 game suspension. The system is complicated but was conceived to reduce the arbitrary nature of the prior system. It's debatable how well it has worked.
We have a bit about the whole system under "reports" about 2/3 of the way down on this FAQ page:

Hope this helps.

So from what I understand
So from what I understand the players that have infractions are assessed penalties against them using a standard points system. Then the points are tallied and for every one hundred points the player has is equal to how many weeks they are suspended from play. Such as 225 pts=2 week suspension. Do I got it?
Yep, that's it.
Yes, Brenda, that's pretty much the way the system works.
