ESPN2 coverage - starts next weekend!

I'm surprise this great news hasn't been posted yet.
According to the TV schedules via ESPNMediazone.com, ESPN.com as well as other sites like TVGuide.com - the Carlton-Hawthorn game will be televised LIVE on ESPN2 on Sunday, May 23 from 12:00 am ET to 3:00 am ET. (So it will start on Saturday, May 22 for people in other timezones in the United States.) It will also be shown LIVE on ESPN3.com.
Great news - we are getting a game earlier than expected. Bad news - unfortunately based on the schedule on ESPNMediazone.com - this is the only game scheduled for ESPN2 in the months of May and June. Hopefully we still get the game thats scheduled for ESPN2 on July 10 as well.

Thanks for the heads up but there is no surprise that it isn't posted here. We do not, EVER, add anything to the TV schedules that has not be confirmed to us. Even if it is on the web site of the TV network. Over 15 years, AFANA has learned that we'd rather have this confirmed by all parties involved before we post, rather than post it and then be told by the network or the AFL we got bad information. Believe me, we've been burned more than once. You can trust the schedules you see here as a result. We have the information not from the PR department or the web department or someone's on screen guide or the "somebody told somebody" department. We get it from the programming management that makes the decisions.
We should have confirmation from ESPN and the AFL on this by Monday or so. If we do, it will be on the front page of the web site. Assuming that's true it is indeed good news!
