The match day report of Melbourne's Simon Godfrey for front on contact with Kangaroo Scott McMahon was assessed by the MRP. The panel ruled that Godfrey, who was pursuing Kangaroo Brent Harvey was not responsible for the bump on McMahon. The panel, in making their assessment, stated that Godfrey's view of McMahon was blocked by Harvey as McMahon bent over in an effort to retrieve the ball. McMahon, with his weight on his left foot, attempted to tap the ball to Harvey with his right hand and subsequently fell over to his right and into Godfrey's path. Godfrey, it was ruled, had no chance to change direction to avoid contact with McMahon. The report was dismissed.
