150 consecutive games: Carlton's Kade Simpson played his 150th consecutive game in Round Six. His streak began in Round 15, 2005. It is the longest current streak and Simpson is the 19th player in League history to play 150 or more games consecutively. Former Tiger champion Kevin Bartlett did it twice during his 400-plus game career.  read more »

Round 4 saw the MCG host its 2500th game when Carlton and Essendon faced off. In a way, it was fitting that two of the League's foundation clubs played this historical game. Indeed the milestone could well have been reached some years ago except for the fact that the powers that were way back in 1896 refused to allow the new game of Aussie Rules to be played on the ground for fear it would ruin the surface for summer cricket. Sydney's Adam Goodes, who missed Round 4 due to suspension, played his 304th game in Round 5. This takes him past former champion and teammate Michael O'Loughlin. The Sydney pair is behind former Adelaide champion Andrew McLeod (340 games) for most games played by an indigenous player.  read more »

Jonathan Brown's second goal late in the third term against the Suns was his 500th career goal. He is the first player in the club’s history to reach the mark. Docker Matthew Pavlich kicked a goal in Round 4 and one in Round 5. He needs five more to become the first Docker in Fremantle's short history to boot 500 goals.  read more »

Brent Harvey joined the 300 Club after playing his 300th AFL game at Subiaco Oval against the West Coast Eagles. Harvey, who had a reasonably quiet game by his standards, was chaired off the ground by his team mates.  read more »

Bulldog Coach Eade Record

Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

Malthouse Climbs Victory Ladder

After the win over Carlton in Round 18, Collingwood Coach Mick Malthouse is equal third for most wins in League history. The victory was the 358th for Malthouse, who began his coaching career with Footscray (now the Western Bulldogs) before taking the helm at West Coast. He is tied with Allan Jeans (St Kilda, Hawthorn and Richmond).  read more »
