Bulldog Coach Eade Record

Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

Malthouse Up With Best

Round 13 will be Mick Malthouse's 800th game as a player and coach. His record comprises 53 games as a player with St Kilda, 121 games as a player with Richmond, 135 games as a coach with Footscray, 243 games as a coach with West Coast and 247 games as a coach with Collingwood. The following is the time line for the the Grand Final day events including key times for match and TV related activities.   All times are listed first in Australian AEST and then in US EDT.  This is based on information from the AFL and past history.  (We have an article on the days events and entertainers with details here.)  (Updated with honored legends, olympians, etc.):

Voss Replaces Matthews as Brisbane Coach

Matthews gives up coaching Brisbane, Voss quickly appointed

In a shock announcement last Monday, Leigh Matthews announced his retirement as Brisbane coach. Matthews took over as coach of the Lions in 1999 and coached the team in 237 games, including their three premierships 2001-2003. Matthews, in making the announcement said it was the right time for him step aside. Matthews will remain with the club to assist with the post-season review and list management.
