Always a threat when they travel to Perth, the Western Bulldogs suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the West Coast Eagles in front of 37,000 fanatical fans. Prior to this match, the Eagles’ form had been good with four wins while the 2010 Preliminary Finalists had a return to winning form against Richmond last week after a very patchy start to the season. read more »
Since 2005 the Western Bulldogs have had the wood on Fremantle. The last time they played, Barry Hall sunk the Dockers almost single-handedly, booting a bagful of goals to help the Bulldogs run out 82 point winners. Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

In the week leading up to Round 20 the AFL announced a number of proposed rule changes, the most controversial being a limit on interchanges. Should any or all of the rules be accepted by the 17 clubs, who were notified of the proposals by Operations Manager Adrian Anderson, they will be introduced next season. read more »
Following a devastating Round 12 loss to bottom team Richmond, the West Coast Eagles’ players and coaching staff attracted heavy home town scrutiny. John Worsfold’s future was openly debated and senior players spoke publicly of their disappointing recent performances. Sunday’s Round 13 match against the Western Bulldogs needed to be a do or die effort to regain the respect of fans and to inject new belief into the players. read more »

Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade contacted the AFL Umpire Department after the match against North Melbourne to discuss the incidents between Barry Hall and the North Melbourne players. He said Hall deserved more protection from the umpires and pointed out that Hall was denied several free kicks which should have been awarded. Umpire Director Jeff Gieshcen said that Hall did deserve a free kick after Scott Thompson knocked him over. read more »
Rodney Eade (WESTERN BULLDOGS) will coach his 279th game in Round Nine (152 games with the Sydney Swans and 126 games with the Bulldogs ahead of this round). It will move him into the top 20 for coaches in the history of the game. read more »
Coach Rodney Eade traveled west once again with the Western Bulldogs to take on the West Coast Eagles who were coming off a demoralising loss to Saint Kilda the previous week. The Bulldogs enjoy an impressive winning record at Subiaco Oval and with an unbeaten record in the first three rounds, there were justifiably high expectations of another win. read more »
Hopes were high that after last week’s spirited performance against Geelong, Richmond could break their winless streak and take the game up to an in-form Western Bulldogs. However there were ominous signs when Richmond players failed to break through the supporters’ club banner when running onto the ground. read more »
