Dockers Break Bulldog Hoodoo

Since 2005 the Western Bulldogs have had the wood on Fremantle. The last time they played, Barry Hall sunk the Dockers almost single-handedly, booting a bagful of goals to help the Bulldogs run out 82 point winners. Big Barry was back in Perth again and no matter where they are on the Ladder, the Bulldogs always give a good account of themselves at the large Patersons Stadium.  read more »

Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

Coaches Oppose Interchange Limits

In the week leading up to Round 20 the AFL announced a number of proposed rule changes, the most controversial being a limit on interchanges. Should any or all of the rules be accepted by the 17 clubs, who were notified of the proposals by Operations Manager Adrian Anderson, they will be introduced next season.  read more »

John Worsfold’s future was openly debated and senior players spoke publicly of their disappointing recent performances. Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade contacted the AFL Umpire Department after the match against North Melbourne to discuss the incidents between Barry Hall and the North Melbourne players. He said Hall deserved more protection from the umpires and pointed out that Hall was denied several free kicks which should have been awarded. Umpire Director Jeff Gieshcen said that Hall did deserve a free kick after Scott Thompson knocked him over.  read more »
