The following is the time line for the the Grand Final day events including key times for match and TV related activities.   All times are listed first in Australian AEST and then in US EDT.  This is based on information from the AFL, AFANA, press reports and past history. : This story will be periodically updated with late information.

1.10 PM – 1.25 PM / 11:10 PM – 11:25 PM Preliminary on-field warm-up opportunity for competing clubs

Stage and sound set in centre square
1:30 PM -- 2:00 PM / 11:30 PM --12:00 MN Pre-match entertainment featuring INXS.  Welcome to country by Wurundjeri elder Joy Murphy Wandin.
1:30 PM / 11:30 PM International TV feed begins including coverage on ESPN Classic, TSN2, and ESPN3.com.  The host broadcaster is Channel 7 and the announcers will be lead by Bruce McAvaney and Dennis Cometti.

Coach Roos Joins Elite

Round 16 will see Sydney Coach Paul Roos notch 550 games as a player and coach. This includes 269 games as a player for the Fitzroy Lions 1982-1994, 87 games as a player for the Sydney Swans and 193 games as coach of the Sydney Swans.  read more »

Following a devastating Round 12 loss to bottom team Richmond, the West Coast Eagles’ players and coaching staff attracted heavy home town scrutiny. John Worsfold’s future was openly debated and senior players spoke publicly of their disappointing recent performances. Sunday’s Round 13 match against the Western Bulldogs needed to be a do or die effort to regain the respect of fans and to inject new belief into the players.  read more »

Bulldogs Stomp on Tiger’s Tail

Hopes were high that after last week’s spirited performance against Geelong, Richmond could break their winless streak and take the game up to an in-form Western Bulldogs.
