The following is the time line for the the Grand Final day events including key times for match and TV related activities.   All times are listed first in Australian AEST and then in US EDT.  This is based on information from the AFL, AFANA, press reports and past history. : This story will be periodically updated with late information.

1.10 PM – 1.25 PM / 11:10 PM – 11:25 PM Preliminary on-field warm-up opportunity for competing clubs
1:25 PM / 11:25 PM Stage and sound set in centre square
1:30 PM -- 2:00 PM / 11:30 PM --12:00 MN Pre-match entertainment featuring INXS.  Welcome to country by Wurundjeri elder Joy Murphy Wandin.
1:30 PM / 11:30 PM International TV feed begins including coverage on ESPN Classic, TSN2, and ESPN3.com.  The host broadcaster is Channel 7 and the announcers will be lead by Bruce McAvaney and Dennis Cometti.

Sydney's Jude Bolton, Adam Goodes and Brett Kirk will play their 18th Finals games in the Semi-Final, equaling the record set by former teammate Michael O'Loughlin.  read more »

After the first round of the Finals was completed, the AFL Players Association held their annual awards ceremony. Unlike other League awards, the Leigh Matthews Trophy winner is nominated and voted for by his peers.  read more »

Bulldog Coach Eade Record

Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

Malthouse Climbs Victory Ladder

After the win over Carlton in Round 18, Collingwood Coach Mick Malthouse is equal third for most wins in League history. The victory was the 358th for Malthouse, who began his coaching career with Footscray (now the Western Bulldogs) before taking the helm at West Coast. He is tied with Allan Jeans (St Kilda, Hawthorn and Richmond).  read more »

Another Record For Malthouse

Round 15 will be Mick Malthouse's 250th game as Collingwood Coach, making him the third person in the history of the club to reach this milestone. He joins Jock McHale (714 games, 1912-49) and Phonse Kyne (272 games, 1950-63).  read more »

Malthouse Up With Best

Round 13 will be Mick Malthouse's 800th game as a player and coach. His record comprises 53 games as a player with St Kilda, 121 games as a player with Richmond, 135 games as a coach with Footscray, 243 games as a coach with West Coast and 247 games as a coach with Collingwood. He becomes only the third person in the history of the game to reach this mark.  read more »

2010 Kirk's Swan Song

A career that almost wasn't will come to a close at the end of this season with Sydney's Brett Kirk announcing his retirement when the season is completed. In making the announcement, Kirk said he knew in his heart that the time was right. Kirk began his football journey in Sydney's Reserves but was cut from team. He refused to accept the rejection, returning home to play two seasons with his local club before trying again at Sydney.  read more »

ANZAC Day holds a special place in the hearts of all Australians and was honored by the AFL in Round 5. Fremantle has a good ANZAC Day record, having won eight from thirteen "Len Hall" memorial games since entering the competition in 1994. Before the match, veterans paraded with a military band and an eternal flame was lit to pay respect to the fallen soldiers of Australia and New Zealand. As the lone bugler played the Last Post there was absolute silence in the crowd of thirty two thousand as each paused for one minute of remembrance.  The Len Hall Game is named in honor of a member of the Western Australian 10th Light Horse Regiment, active during the Gallipoli campaign.  read more »
