Jonathan Brown's second goal late in the third term against the Suns was his 500th career goal. He is the first player in the club’s history to reach the mark. Docker Matthew Pavlich kicked a goal in Round 4 and one in Round 5. He needs five more to become the first Docker in Fremantle's short history to boot 500 goals. read more »
Keeping their fairytale season on track, the West Coast Eagles moved into fourth position on the Ladder with a decimation of arch rivals Essendon. The Bombers ran out of legs and players as the game wore on in very warm, late winter conditions in Perth. read more »
Fremantle has been on a downward slide without star ruckman Aaron Sandilands, missing for the last three games with a foot injury. The Dockers have lost their last six games without him in the team. Essendon has also had a topsy-turvy month and were coming off an upset loss to the lowly Melbourne Demons last round. read more »
Essendon and the West Coast Eagles have a colorful past. A rivalry that goes back to the days when Coach Kevin Sheedy started waving his jacket whenever the Bombers defeated the Eagles. At the start of this season, the Eagles, like the Bombers, had not been given much chance of success. Coach John Worsfold was inked in as one of the first coaches to be fired. Both teams however showed epic pre-season form, both making the Preliminary Finals and both losing to Collingwood in the NAB Cup. read more »

The Western Sydney Giants have signed former Carlton fullback Stephen Silvagni as the club's list manager. Silvagni will play a key role in putting together the team list ahead of their 2012 entry into the AFL. Silvagni has been an assistant coach with St. Kilda for the past four seasons. read more »
After losing the last series in 2008, Australia has reclaimed bragging rights over Ireland with a hard-fought three point win in the second game. Ireland played a more aggressive attacking game this time round, laying a number of tackles but the Australians held firm even when under siege in the final term. read more »
Mick Malthouse, fresh from coaching Collingwood to the 2010 AFL Premiership, had little or no time to relax afterward as he began preparations for the Australian team to play against Ireland in the International Rules Series.
