Charges Laid:
Andrew Krakouer (RICH), rough conduct against Cat Darren Milburn: assessed as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points), and high contact (two points) equaling a total of six points, a Level Three offense, 325 demerits, and a three game suspension. His five year good record reduces the penalty 25% to 243.75 demerits and a 2 game suspension. points and a two-match sanction.

The incident occurred when Krakouer tried to soccer the ball off the ground and accidentally kicked Milburn in the head, resulting in Milburn being taken to the hospital for stitches. He was cleared of any serious damage.

The Tigers decided to contest the charge. And did so successfully. Krakouer argued at the hearing that his sole focus was to run in and soccer the ball through for a goal and did not see "what was in front of him" as he had his eyes down. Milburn, who gave evidence by telephone, said he tried to smother the kick and believed that Krakouer kicking him was an accident and just "part of football". He added that given a similar situation, he would do the same thing. The panel found him not guilty.

Campbell Brown (HAW), striking Demon Lynden Dunn: assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points), and high contact (two points), equaling six points, a Level Three offense, 225 demerits, and a two game suspension. His previous record of nine matches suspended in the past three years increases the penalty 50% to 337.50 demerits and a three game suspension. He accepted the penalty, reducing it by 25% to 253.13 demerits and a two game suspension. That two game suspension remained despite his early plea because of his previous record.

Adem Yze (MELB), attempting to trip Hawk Robert Campbell: attempting to trip incurs only a reprimand and 80 demerits. He accepted with an early plea reducing the penalty 25% to 60 demerits toward his future record.

The match day report against the Western Bulldogs' Farren Ray was assessed. Ray was reported for making forceful contact from front-on to Sydney's Paul Bevan. The Match Review Panel (MRP) determined that both players were competing for the ball with Bevan arriving first to the contest. They further determined that it was not Ray's intention to bump forcefully, but to avoid a collision and therefore not reportable.
