This, combined with brother Peter's 240 games, puts the duo equal with Michael and Brett Voss in 11th place on the League's list of most games by two brothers. Eagles Steal Win Over Cats

Much was at stake when the West Coast Eagles took on the visiting Geelong Cats. The winner would still be in contention for a double chance in the Finals, while the loser risked drifting towards elimination from the Top Eight. The Cats were hot from their win last week against definite Premiership favorite in Hawthorn. It was all up for grabs as the ball was bounced.

West Coast got off to a great start with Dean Cox making the most of the ball landing in his hands to slot the opening goal. Fast movement through the middle of the ground had the Eagles’ second on the board when Quinten Lynch scored. The Eagles looked pumped but were soon brought back to earth when Tom Hawkins scored the Cats’ first goal from a free kick.

Dockers Upset Reigning Premiers

Geelong won the 2011 Premiership and despite the loss of some key players to retirement, this is still a formidable side which plays well away. Nevertheless the Cats have had trouble with the Fremantle Dockers. Last year there was one nail-biting finish and the first quarter for 2012 showed that the fans were in for more of the same.

Geelong superstar Matthew Scarlett will qualify for AFL Life Membership when he plays his next game for the Cats. He has played 299 games since his debut in 1998. The breakdown is 268 regular season games, 27 preseason games, one State of Origin match and three International Rules games.
