A fearless Hawthorn completely dominated the Adelaide Crows in front of over 70,000 fans at the MCG on Friday night. With their potential “three-peat“ under threat after an indifferent performance against the West Coast Eagles just a week earlier, the Hawks showed no mercy as they piled on eight first-quarter goals.

Adelaide, despite coming into the game in season-best form, had no answers for the Hawks' brilliant ball use and pinpoint accuracy.

A crowd of just above 60,000 witnessed a thrilling Elimination Final on Saturday night as the Adelaide Crows ensured the Western Bulldogs would be the first team knocked out of the Finals race in 2015. Despite leading most of the statistics that usually result in victory (contested possession, time in forward half, clearances and shots on goal), the Bulldogs let themselves down in front of goal, while their Adelaide opponents nailed crucial shots which turned out to be the difference between living to fight another day or packing the footy boots away for another season.

What a difference a week makes. Richmond players and coaches traveled to Adelaide on a high after defeating premiership favorite Hawthorn, confident they could defeat an Adelaide Crows team that had been demoralized by the Sydney Swans just a week earlier. The Crows knew they had to win to keep their Finals hopes alive, while the Tigers' Top Four chances depended on a victory over the Crows in front of a sell-out Adelaide crowd.

Richmond received bad news on the eve of the big clash with the news that Brett Deledio - their four-goal hero against Hawthorn - would not take his place in the team due to a bad case of influenza. With Deledio missing, the onus was on Jack Riewoldt and Ty Vickery to produce enough goals to win against the hard running Crows.

Returning to the football field after the murder of their coach Phil Walsh, the Adelaide Crows came to Perth for a Round 15 encounter with a West Coast team that also had strong connections with Walsh, an assistant coach under John Worsfold from 2009-2013. The wounds were still raw and emotions close to the surface for both teams as they stood together arm in arm for a moment’s silence in memory of Walsh before the start of play.

Adelaide has appointed its midfield coach Scott Camporeale as interim Senior Coach for the rest of 2015 season on Monday, replacing the late Phil Walsh. Former West Coast premiership coach John Worsfold also joins the club in the newly created position as Director of Coaching on a short-term contract. The two men will be working together for the first time since 2001 when Camporeale was in the middle of his playing career at Carlton where Worsfold was an assistant coach at the time. Camporeale played 233 games for the Blues from 1995 to 2005 (he was part of the club's 1995 Premiership side) and 19 games for Essendon from 2006 to 2007. He worked as the Bombers' assistant coach for the next four years before he joined the Crows as Midfield Coach in 2010.

Adelaide has appointed Port Adelaide midfield coach Phil Walsh as its new senior coach for the next three years. Walsh, a highly regarded tactician, joined Port in 2014, after five seasons with the West Coast Eagles as Strategy and Innovations Coach. He was also midfield coach for Port in 2004. Walsh, who played 122 games for Collingwood, Richmond and Brisbane, started his coaching journey overseeing strength and conditioning at Geelong in the 1990s. Club chairman Rob Chapman said Walsh would be a perfect fit for the club and could lead it to success.
