AFL Gets To Roku and Fire by the Back Door

(Ed. note: for the latest on online coverage see our TV Info page. This article won't be updated so go there for current info.)

Effective 6/26/2016, Sony's PlayStation Vue service has added Roku and Amazon Fire apps to their offering which brings AFL to those platforms along with it. Since you can subscribe to the service via Roku or Fire boxes without the need to own a Playstation, it adds another way to get footy onto your TV and avoid subscribing to a full cable TV subscription. High speed internet will still be required, of course.

Pricing probably means it exists as an alternative for the "cord cutters" and no so much for other internet based viewers. The service carries Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and Fox Sports 2 (FS2) in it's base offering ("Access" package) for $29.99 per month along with many other channels.

Australian Rules Football Television Coverage in 2021

We have full schedules at our AFL TV schedules page.
We have weekly radio listings for the AFL at our AFL Radio page

Update 3/27/21:) As of today: We have sent multiple inquiries to Fox and the AFL this week seeking the status of negotiations. Neither have responded. As we normally do, we send these messages to the programming and commercial departments, not the PR departments. When we don't get a response that usually means that either 1) they have no progress to report OR 2) it's bad news they don't want to share. As fans, we should now assume that no US coverage is forthcoming this year. It would be the first broadcast year since 1989 without some TV coverage via cable or satellite in the US. We encourage fans to use social media to let the AFL and Fox Sports US (not Foxtel Australia!) know that you are missing your footy. We advise using the WatchAFL links on our website (see below) to subscribe for a week or month at this stage. (Links on our site support what we do. If you subscribe from any link elsewhere, we do not get any support.) If nothing is heard from the AFL at the beginning of next week, we will dramatically escalate the pressure on the AFL. Canadian schedules are up. It goes without saying - we can use more volunteers. We exist because of generous donations from fans. We need your support. We now have our radio info available on a Google Calendar - see the radio page for details. Our schedules are free for personal use. Reuse, reposting, etc. on any other media must credit AFANA. Please consider donating (link button above) if you have found our schedules useful. US repeats are only on FSP. We also have the WatchAFL schedule and WatchAFLcarries every game live and on-demand.

This page will give you the basic facts you need to know about TV Coverage in the USA, Canada, and Mexico in 2019 and is expected to be largely unchanged from late 2018. Information will be updated as necessary throughout the 2019 season. It appears we will get one live game per week on FS2 (rarely on FS1) and three on FSP. This year there is extensive coverage of the AFLW, AFLX, and AFL preseason. Coverage in Canada is unchanged from last year, mostly on TSN2 and occasionally other TSN channels.
