GEK TV Now Carries Setanta Sports US
The demise of ITVN meant that Setanta Sports was no longer available via an Internet TV (or IPTV) platform. For those fans which want to get footy on their TV and can't get satellite the only options have been via a primarily PC based service (Setanta Broadband). That has now changed as Setanta Sports is on GEK TV. Special subscription info to be posted shortly.

Since 2003, Round 3 of the AFL season has been designated as Rivalry Round, in which traditional football foes face off in highly competitive and often very physical matches. The Eagles came into the 27th Western Derby with a winning record of 18-8 over Fremantle. In the final Derby of 2007, Fremantle took the honors in a controversial game marred by ugly incidents between players on field and confrontations and abusive behavior in the crowd.

Charges Laid:
Daniel Merrett (BRIS), rough conduct against Collingwood's Anthony Rocca: assessed as negligent contact (one point), medium impact (two points) and body contact (one point), equaling four points, Level One offense, 125 demerits and a one game suspension. He has no prior record, good or bad and accepted, reducing the penalty 25% to 93.75 demerits and a reprimand.
Setanta Broadband has begun coverage of the AFL following the same schedule for live and repeat matches as that of Setanta US. (This was effective with Round 1 of 2008 however Setanta made no public announcement and did not notify AFANA.) This is great news for fans who lost coverage due the demise of ITVN and those who want to view footy via their computers without the issues of the AFL web site. Fans may subscribe at: Setanta Broadband . Viewers in Canada will use the same link as a separate feed for Canada is not yet available. The cost is US$14.99 per month or $149.99 per year. AFANA will be updating our TV pages over the next several days to reflect this very positive development and and make it part of our TV schedules.
