I'm a Swan fan and, like so many other Swan fans, I am not excited in a positive way over Barry's closed hand (fist) swat at Collingwood's Wakelin in round 14.
Appears to me if Barry is frustrated by the great defense Malthouse & Co. put up during the first 3 quarters, he could have done lots of positive things to not get him suspended by the Swans (AFL is still reviewing as I understand it). He could have taken his aggression out by chasing down some Magpies with the ball, doing some hard tackling, or doing the shoulder bumps that is always occurring.
Instead, he gave up 5? free kicks, threw a punch at Wakelin (whether it landed or not I believe is irrelevant. It was a closed fist (looked to me like it was a glancing blow)). And I didn't see a lot of hustle from Barry.
I believe Barry Hall will not be playing for the Swans in 2009.
