G'day North North America,

I suppose maybe viewers didn't think I was asking a question in my last blog, I apologise for the miscommunication; I was kinda asking: Is there any Cat supporters out there in America and /or Canada?   And If so do you at all try to catch up with the latest goss of the happenings at the Cattery(Skilled Stadium-Home of the club) are you heading soon to your nearest Grand Final party to represent the club if we participate?    If any of you are out there please spread the word of the Cat and the great city and club of Geelong for - out of our theme song 'We are Geelong, the greatest team of all'-LOL sorry if it sounds corny but I'm just a proud, born and bred 'Cat' supporter and local passionate to spread the word about our great honourable club.

Well since the Grand Final I have been sort of in hiding...... but it is fun being FINALLY a PREMIERSHIP CAT FAN. Hey Bob it's good to see you're a long time Cat Fan and I appreciate your name dropping..... here are my memory efforts....

I actually remember crying as Richmond trounced Geelong in 1969..... Geelong scored 7-7-48 and lost by 118 points.

But my first game was Round 5 in 1971.....

..... Essendon 9-14-68 Geelong 14-4-88....  at Windy Hill....the rain bucketed down... the grounds in those days when it rained were MUD HEAPS.

I was 8 years old.... drenched.... and my brothers made sure I had a couple of piping HOT MEAT PIES to keep me warm. Billy Goggin, Doug Wade, Sammy Newman, Geoof Ainsworth, Gareth Andrews, John Scarlett and the list goes on and on. Before that, Mum would buy me an exercise book, and I had stats sheet (wish i still had it) of every game from the time I understood what was happening. Mum would iron the clothes and I would sit next to the radio listening to 3GL. Geelong radio station of the day.

When I was finally working I had my seasons ticket and would go off by train or drive to geelong for the games. Then finally I bit the bullet because I knew Malcolm Blight would bring something to the club, and I got 2 seats at KARDINIA PARK.... next to the players race..... Front row....it was awesome. I still now believe Malcom Blight started the change of the OLD GUARD down at Kardinia Park. He lead the way to 2007, even though he has been gone a while.

So now I am in Utah...have hosted a Grand Final every year but for 2007 as my boss sent me to Louisville, so I watched the game with a mate for Massachusetts, at a place called Molly Malones. A new bond was formed. I am now  a REDSOXED CAT FAN  as he is.... Boston Cats or Geelong Redsox....  oh well doesn't make sense so we'll stick to Geelong Cats and Boston Redsox ...the way to go. I am a big guy so a Geelong footy jumper would not fit, so my wife got me a blue and white striped Polo rugby top so I could proudly watch the Grand Final. My only bad thing was not watching the game at home with my long suffering GEELONG CAT widow wife..... when Geelong are on she has no Hubby.

I now have in my possession, the 2006 NAB Cup DVD, the initial (immediate release) 2007 Premiership DVD, the 2007 Victory Pack, and a home made DVD which includes some of the Channel 9 Footy Show from the day after the Grand Final, watching Billy Brownless after a couple of "FROFFIES" was enormous.

My office every year has the current GEELONG TEAM on the wall, as does my spare room at home, the door of my office displays a copy of the GEELONG SUPPORTERS WELCOME sign as well at a minature of the 2007 Weg Premiership Poster, and shortly I will have my full sized Weg Poster framed.

GO CATTERS.... just announced by my wife.....Australia Day January 26.... BOYS DAY OUT..... my place GRAND FINAL REPLAY... Port Power fans welcome and I will be running a book.... the bets will be taken on a PORT VICTORY ONLY. EVERYONE WELCOME....come to Utah watch the Cats then go to the moutnains and enjoy the slopes.

Good on you mate your wife has guided you to the light well, but just one question what do you mean by a House Cat?   Mate spread the Cats gospel we are the Greatest Team Of All.    I hope you enjoyed yourselves watching the Grand Final - share in the sacred passion and glory Party hard through the day and into the night, wack on the Theme song and sing it with all your heart and soul and then wack on We Are The Champions (Queen) and do the same thing and bring the house down, let our presence and spirit be known in the great America let your people know who we are and about our attractive brand!

Car'n the Catterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!

Of course mate I know exactly: thats what I'm hoping for: I want to help create a world Geelong Football Club dynasty in the future, I'm moving to America in 1 or 2 years time;    you know how passionate Eddie McGuire is about Collingwood well I'm exactley the same about my home club - the second oldest football club of any footy code in the entire universe and the home club to arguably two of the greatest players of all time Gary Ablett Snr and Graham 'Polly' Farmer, plus now we havfe teh potential to create a football dynasty with a great team and very strong youth for the future- 3 or 4  consecutive Premierships or create a dynasty similar to that of Hawthorn in the 70's and 80's.

Anyway I want to help grow the game and especially Geelong loyalty in the States, I've got enormous drive and passion for these two causes, plus I love the States, so American Cat fans spread the word about the Mighty Catters, for we are the Greatest Team of all and you could be a part of it - Geelong- originally the seagulls - then the Pivotonians - and finally the Cats.

N.B. The Blue and White hoops means the dark blue waters of Corio Bay which is the city's bay, and the white seagulls roaming around the shores of the bay. - The Cat is originally a black Cat for good luck but theres more of a story to it than that.

This is my passion and one of my life long dreams: above, however I am ranting and raving a bit like a lunatic because I'm hammered (LOL) the whole town is and will be in party mode for the next few months because the monkey of bad luck is finally off our back- we've killed it with a 'steam roller', the cat has beaten, clawed it, torn it apart and had it for this mornings breakfast and the lid is completely off in GTown and the town has gone nuts and wild in celebrations everyone is united as one, because We Are Geelong!

Cat Power! or as we like to also say it in Geelong (don't worry nothing offensive about 'Up' in this Aussie context.)  Up The Cats!(LOL)

Don't you worry Admincms I'm passionate, and I'm loyal to the AFANA's, USFOOTY, AFL and the Cats cause, I'm here to stay.

Admin,

I can see your point by changin my original cry to 'Cat' instead of you know what as of what it can also mean, but I assure you in this context it is completely innocent, Geelong is not discreet like that-In the proper context it means P---- Cat: So even though its not a 'biggin', if you could change it back to the origninal but if you want just put a quick explanation to clear it than that would be a real bonus- It sounds so much more traditional and better than just plain old 'Up the Cats'(LOL), but if you can't than okay I can live with that.    Cheers

Long Live the Catters, Long Live the The GFC! The second Most traditional and oldest Football club in the world, full of history and very sacred.

It is not relevant whether I want it one way or the other or what context you mean it in.   The mere use of certain words will cause our rating by services that evaluate web sites for "safety" to downgrade us.  Period.   I am well aware of the context and whether an explanation is added won't make one iota of difference.  Our staff is subject to editorial controls for the same reasons.  We make no exceptions.   Our mission here is to popularize the sport in North America and if that means that certain words and phrases cannot be used, so be it.   Our site policy is also clear on this.

Also, having dealt with Geelong management, I think they are quite professional and responsible and would completely understand our concern.

I'd also suggest, that you go a bit easy on the exclamation points.  Your enthusiasm is just as clear with one as it is with five or ten.

G'day mate,

Good on you, you are part of something very special and sacred; enjoy the Premiership, sing the Theme song and We Are The Champions (Queen) with aall your heart and soul, let the Cats presence be known in Chicago , spread the Cats gospel in your land, and mate there's more to come - we have the potential to create a Hawthorn like 70's and 80's like dynasty with a strong team and plenty of Depth(strong, talented youth stocked up for the future).

Car'n the Catterrrrrrrrrs! Or as we in Geelong like to say (in Aussie context this 'Up' is not offensive)     Up The Cats!
