The match day report laid against the Western Bulldogs' Robert Murphy, for making front-on contact to Richmond's Andrew Raines was assessed by the Match Review Panel. The MRP ruled that that although contact was made to Raines' head with Murphy's knee, it was done so while Murphy was trying to avoid the contest and had no other alternative. As such, the charge was dismissed.
The match day report laid against Geelong's Josh Hunt for charging Hawthorn's Shane Crawford was also dismissed. The MRP ruled that Hunt traveled a short distance to contest the ball as Crawford turned his back and disposed of the ball. The panel further ruled that Hunt realized that Crawford had disposed of the ball and turned to protect himself on impact. The panel deemed that contact was inevitable and was not unreasonable or unnecessary.
The panel reviewed the match day report against Collingwood's Anthony Rocca. They ruled that Rocca made contact with Port Adelaide's Dominic Cassisi's shoulder when he bumped him and that there was no contact to Cassisi's head. They further ruled the contact did not seem excessive in the circumstances and dismissed the charge.
