Charges Laid:

Aaron Davey (MELB), striking Brisbane's Troy Selwood: assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and body contact (one point), equaling six points, a Level Three offense, 225 demerits and a two game suspension. He has no existing good or bad record but does have 93.75 demerits carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 318.75 demerits and a three game suspension. He accepted, reducing the penalty 25% 239.06 demerits and a two game suspension.

Simon Black (BRIS), striking Melbourne's Simon Godfrey: assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points), equaling four activation points, Level One offense, 80 demerits and a reprimand. He has an existing poor record of three matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty 30% 104 demerits and a one game suspension. He accepted, reducing the penalty 25% to 78 demerits and a reprimand, with the demerits held over toward his future record.

Ryan Murphy (FRE), rough conduct against Kangaroo Corey Jones: assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points), equaling five points, a Level Two offense, 225 demerits and a two game suspension. He has no existing good or bad record and accepted, reducing the penalty 25% to 168.75 demerits and a one game suspension.

The match day reports laid against Brisbane's Joel MacDonald and Melbourne's Colin Sylvia for wrestling were assessed. The Match Review Panel ruled that although the two players did grapple with one another, it was for a very short time before they both fell to the ground. Once on the ground, they ceased grappling with each other. The panel deemed that as the contact was not of a sustained vigorous nature it was not a reportable offense and dismissed the report.
