Sydney's Adam Goodes, who missed Round 4 due to suspension, played his 304th game in Round 5. This takes him past former champion and teammate Michael O'Loughlin. The Sydney pair is behind former Adelaide champion Andrew McLeod (340 games) for most games played by an indigenous player.
300 games: Simon Black (BRIS) becomes just the second player in the club's history to play 300 games. The other is Marcus Ashcroft. Black could easily break Ashcroft's record of 318 games this season.
Most Games, Rookie List Player: Stephen Milne (St K) played his 241st senior game, representing the second-most games by a player originally taken as a rookie list selection. The most games by former rookie list players are James McDonald (MELB, 253 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Brett Kirk (SYD, 241 games, 1999 Rookie Draft), Stephen Milne (240 games, 2000 Rookie Draft), Mal Michael (COL/BRIS/ESS, 238 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Dean Cox (WCE, 231 games, 2000 Rookie Draft), Russell Robertson (MELB, 228 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Tarkyn Lockyer (COL, 227 games, 1998 Rookie Draft), Darren Jolly (MELB/SYD, COL, 212 games, 2001 Rookie Draft), Michael Doughty (ADE, 211 games, 2000 Rookie Draft) and Nathan Bassett (ADE, 210 games, 1997 Rookie Draft).
Milne also became the 50th player in League history to kick 500 career goals. He reached the mark in the Saints' win over Melbourne. He is the fourth Saint to do so. He joins Tony Lockett (898 goals, 1983-94), Bill Mohr (735 goals, 1929-41) and Stewart Loewe (594 goals, 1986-2002).
