Just ahead of Round 21, Richmond defender Kelvin Moore and forward Brad Miller both announced their immediate retirements due to injury. The duo told the playing group on Thursday. Moore has been plagued by a hip injury for two years and underwent ten surgeries, including a pelvic realignment, in an attempt to resume playing. He played in Round 16 this year, was dropped, then played two more games. While showing good form with Coburg in the VFL, Moore realized it was too much of a toll on his body. Moore, 28, played 87 games 2004-12.
