AFL Coverage on Fox Soccer Plus for Next 3 Years

The AFL announced today that it had reached a three year deal (2012-2014) with Fox Sports for weekly AFL coverage on FOX Soccer Plus (FSP).  FSP is the subscription channel counterpart to Fox Soccer (formerly Fox Soccer Channel and before that Fox Sports World).  The cost will be $14.99 a month and FSP is available to customers of DirecTV, DISH, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-verse, most Time-Warner and Brighthouse cable systems, Cablevision, Cox, BlueRidge, Bendbroadband, SureWest, FullChannel, Frontier, and RCN cable.  The AFL was unable to come to a deal with ESPN for continued coverage on their outlets.  Coverage will be two live matches per week typically (will vary occasionally) plus all finals live. The AFL Winners weekly highlight show will be available on FSP also. AFANA will post more detailed schedules in the next few days and update all of our TV pages to reflect this change in coverage. (TV pages have been updated)  Canadian TV coverage will remain on TSN2 with one live match per week.  (Addendum: 03/23/12: MHz has confirmed they will continue coverage this season with games on Monday nights at 10:00 PM EDT, repeated on Saturdays at 4:00 AM EDT.  Matches will be edited to 2 hrs and they will not carry the highlights programs ("AFL Winners") this season on Saturdays. Also, FSP on some Time Warner systems which offer the Sports Pass package of channels,  FSP will be just $5.99 -- price may vary slightly in some areas.)

Setanta on RCN and Verizon FiOS Cable Systems?

Setanta Says Report Inaccurate

(Updated with info from Setanta and links to original source and subsequent retraction.)
[Ed. note: See later post on this.] According to an article in the May 29 "The Morning BRIDGE", a cable industry newsletter published by Media Business Corp., Roger Hall (Setanta Sport CEO) told the newsletter that Setanta Sports will begin a "rolling launch" on RCN cable systems beginning June 1st and on Verizon FiOS fiber optic cable systems in July.   AFANA spoke to a representative of Setanta Sports who indicated the report by The Morning Bridge was inaccurate and the story has since been partially retracted.  We would appreciate if viewers of RCN or FiOS systems call their local office and seek details on whether Setanta will be available in their area and post that info in a comment.

Australian Rules Football Television Coverage in 2020

We have full schedules at our AFL TV schedules page.
We have weekly radio listings for the AFL at our AFL Radio page

(9/20/20): We will have schedules for the AFL finals as soon as the AFL releases them and Fox and TSN add matches to their schedules. This is likely late this week. There are no matches next weekend. All finals matches will be live on FS1, FS2, and one of the TSN networks including the Grand Final. ESPN coverage has likely concluded for 2020. WatchAFL has announced prices for the finals for online coverage: US$17 per week, US$72 for all 4 weeks, and the annual price remains US$165. Please use our links on this page. We need your support. Schedules, as released so far and on our schedules page, are through Round 18 for ESPN; and on Fox Round 18 (live) / Round 18 (repeats); and Round 18 on TSN Canada. These are the changes in coverage for 2020: There is live coverage on FS1 & FS2 and on all TSN [Canada] networks including multiple live matches. ESPN carries two live games per week on ESPN2/ESPN3 (no repeats) for the rest of 2020 and schedules will be updated as we receive them. The expanded coverage on ESPN, FS1, and FS2 is not guaranteed to continue past the end of this season as the future contract status is not yet known. US repeats are only on FSP. We also have the WatchAFL schedule and WatchAFL carries every game live and on-demand. WatchAFL subscription costs changed as of the start of round 2.

This page will give you the basic facts you need to know about TV Coverage in the USA, Canada, and Mexico in 2019 and is expected to be largely unchanged from late 2018. Information will be updated as necessary throughout the 2019 season. It appears we will get one live game per week on FS2 (rarely on FS1) and three on FSP. This year there is extensive coverage of the AFLW, AFLX, and AFL preseason. Coverage in Canada is unchanged from last year, mostly on TSN2 and occasionally other TSN channels.
