AFL Coverage Included

According to this article on Sportsbusiness.com Telstra's Bigpond unit in cooperation with Perform, an internet services company, will soon launch "Aussie Sport TV" which will offer video from the AFL, NRL, Supercars, and other sports. Users will be able to subscribe on a sport by sport basis and for varying time periods.  It's not clear how this will fit in with the AFL web site offering or differ from it.   Pricing was not disclosed and the AFL has not yet issued any statement regarding this service.  The new web site is supposed to be better optimised for international web users.   Given Telstra's poor history developing video services for sites like the AFL, it will be worth monitoring to see if Perform will be able to help them do what, so far at least, they have failed to do for users at afl.com.au.   AFANA will continue to monitor this development and update this article as further information becomes available.
