The AFL web site has undergone it's annual makeover which is summarized at this link: AFL web site is changing Unfortunately, the article is silent on whether some issues which have plagued fans in the past two seasons have been corrected. The notice does suggest that compatibility with browsers other than Internet Explorer have been improved and there is better support for Mac users (something we have done here, too!). The navigation and layout of the home page has been simplified and improved. The more interesting thing will be how the handling of audio and video will be improved and if users who don't have the latest version of Windows Media Player on a recent version of Windows will be able to use it. For US and Canadian fans, that will be the most critical item. AFANA will have more on the international memberships for this year when it is available.
Update (3/26/08): The AFL advises the following regarding compatibility with the site this season, published without comment: "AFL.com.au supports IE6, IE7, Firefox 2 and above, Safari 3.x for Mac (must be the latest version), Firefox for Mac (must be the latest version). BigPond TV recommends IE 6 or above (but will work with other browsers as it is flash video). Streaming in Game Day Live requires Windows Media player. Any operating system that runs these browsers/players is OK"
