Shaun Burgoyne (HAW, traded from PA) became the 29th player in League history to win a Premiership with two different clubs after the Hawks won the Grand Final. Most recent players to reach this milestone are Darren Jolly (SYD and COL), Stuart Dew (PA and HAW), Cameron Mooney (NM and GEEL), Jason Ball (WCE and SYD), Byron Pickett (NM and PA), Damian Hardwick (ESS and PA), Gavin Wanganeen (ESS and PA), Martin Pike (NM and BRIS) and Blake Caracella (ESS and BRIS).

Brisbane Honors Stars

Earlier in the day, the Brisbane Lions thumped the Western Bulldogs in their Round 13 game. Afterwards, the Lions hosted a 900-plus crowd gathered for the annual Hall of Fame ceremonies at Melbourne's Crown Palladium. The event brings together and celebrates players and supporters of the Fitzroy Lions, the Brisbane Bears and merged entity the Brisbane Lions. At the end of 1996, when the merger of Fitzroy and Brisbane was agreed upon, Brisbane pledged to keep alive and honor the memory and history of Fitzroy, one of the eight foundation clubs of the VFL in 1896.

Bulldog Coach Eade Record

Round 21 represents the 550th game for Bulldog Coach Rodney Eade as a player or coach. Eade played 229 games with Hawthorn and 30 games for the Brisbane Bears. He coached Sydney in 152 games before joining the Bulldogs. Eade becomes just the 13th person in the history of the League to reach this mark.

Malthouse Up With Best

Round 13 will be Mick Malthouse's 800th game as a player and coach. His record comprises 53 games as a player with St Kilda, 121 games as a player with Richmond, 135 games as a coach with Footscray, 243 games as a coach with West Coast and 247 games as a coach with Collingwood. He becomes only the third person in the history of the game to reach this mark.
